  1. 3 December is celebrated as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, worldwide. The theme of International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2022 is “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world”.
  2. The third T20 World Cup Cricket Tournament for the Blind will be held from 5 to 17 December, 2022 in India.
  3. The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India this year has launched a nation-wide campaign for promotion of Digital Life Certificate for Central Government pensioners.
  4. Prasanth Kumar has been elected as the president of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) at its annual general body meeting on 29 November, 2022.
  5. India has assumed the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of December 2022.
  6. A new book, ‘Bravehearts of Bharat: Vignettes from Indian History’ launched on 25 November,  2022. The book is written by Vikram Sampath and published by Penguin, India.
  7. The first Sylhet-Silchar Festival to celebrate the cultural ties between India and Bangladesh began on 2 December, 2022 in Assam’s Barak Valley.
  8. A book on the popular forest conservation campaign Chipko Movement, ‘The Chipko Movement: A People’s History’ written by historian-activist Shekhar Pathak, was named the winner of the Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay NIF Book Prize 2022. It is translated from Hindi by Manisha Chaudhry. 
  9. Saurashtra beat Maharashtra by 5 wickets in the final to win the Vijay Hazare Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  10. A polling booth located in a remote forest area of Gir Somnath district in Gujarat recorded 100 per cent voting after its lone voter cast his vote in the first phase of the state Assembly elections.
  11. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir appointed as Chairperson of National Commission for Backward Classes on 2 December, 2022.
  12. Vijender Sharma has been elected as the new president of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India for the year 2022-23.
  13. Veteran Odia film actress Jharana Das passed away on 2 December, 2022.
  14. Ministry of Culture in collaboration with ‘Swar Dharohar Foundation’ inaugurated a three-day ‘Swar Dharohar Festival’ in New Delhi on 2 December, 2022.
  15. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in partnership with Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Goa Government is organizing the International Lusophone Festival in Goa from 3-6 December.  
  16. Airline EasyJet and Aircraft Engine maker Rolls-Royce announced that they have successfully tested a hydrogen-powered aircraft engine, which is described as the World’s first for aviation.
  17. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the top six engineering institutes of India for introducing Indian standards as an integral part of the curriculum.
